Design Team Delights for Challenge #9

It is time to for my Design Team to share their favourite entries for Challenge #9.  As always, in each challenge you, the readers, get to voice your opinion by voting for your favourite and so it is only fitting that my Design Team get to do so as well.  That is why we have a special DT Delights post just before we launch the new challenge.

Thanks to everyone who took the time to join along our Path during the month of December for Challenge #9.   While it is always a difficult decision, each team member managed to find a particular entry that really caught their attention.  Check them out...
Heather--chosen by Vicky and Desíre...

Vicky had this to say:
"My DT favorite would be #7 - Heather because I really really love the Christmas memory that she is was mentioning.  That's what Joy is all about for me!"

Here is what Desíre had to say:
"I loved the story of exchanging gifts and the joy it brought to everyone.  And of course her bookmark gifts are just such a wonderful joyous gift idea."

Monica--chosen by Pat...

Since Monica wasn't part of the team during Challenge 9 back in December, she was still in the running for both the top seven and of course for a DT Delight if someone was enamoured by her project.  Well, Pat definitely was and chose her for her DT Delight. This is what Pat had to say:
"Monica summed it up in a nutshell":
“…(Joy)  doesn't cost money, you don't have to have strong muscles, you just have to have a certain attitude about things. I believe that a positive attitude is contagious, but so is negativity. I choose to be positive.  It creates for a much happier life, home and relationship with friends and family. And after-all, isn't that what life is all about?”

Edwina--chosen by Suze...

Here is what Suze had to say:
"Being a lover of CAS cards, I really appreciate this one.  The colour scheme is lovely and the card is beautifully balanced."

On a personal note it was really special for me to see Edwina use the sentiment I gave out at the beginning of Challenge #9.  Not only did she use it, she made it the focal point of her card.    It turned out so pretty, didn't it?

Mandy--chosen by Sandy...
Here is what Sandy had to say:
"Mandy – wow! what determination and accomplishment.  Her ‘winning’ regarding her weight issues and diabetes… wowzers… I can totally feel her joy in reaching the milestone on top of the hill."

Gloria--chosen by Lisa (that's me)...

I chose Gloria not only for her cute creation but my decision was based as much, on what she had to say.  Gloria talked about the joy that we experience during the holidays and what this time of year means to her. There is so much joy to be experienced in life and Christmas time is certainly a time when we tend to feel more of it. I agreed with her on how nice it is to share with family and friends and especially to see the look of joy on someone's face as they receive something given from the heart. But Gloria also talked about remembering those around us that don't feel joy during the holidays due to the circumstances in their own lives. It is important that we remember those that struggle at Christmas time too.  We can only hope the best for them and if possible help them to once again find a path filled with joy.

Creative Congratulations to all of you!

Thank you to everyone who played on our Pathway during the month of December.  Thank you for taking the time out of such a busy month and sharing your wonderful entries with us.  As always, the time and energy that went into each of these creations is evident.  Now if you were chosen as a DT Delight, then we have a special treat for you.   Not only are you eligible for a special DT Delight badge, we will also be having a draw at the end of our first year for a special package of digital goodies.  So, if you are chosen as a DT Delight during any of our challenges, your name will be entered into the draw.  You get one entry per choice; so, if two members picked your card, you will earn 2 entries, three members 3 entries, etc.  The draw will take place around the anniversary of when the Path of Positivity came into existence which will put the draw date sometime in April 2014.  The winner at the time will be notified by email.  In the interim you are more than welcome to copy your framed card above and add it to your blog to share with all your readers; and, don't forget to EMAIL ME for a copy of the special Challenge #9 DT Delight Badge.  I'm always running a bit behind these days so your patience is appreciated.

Thank you for stopping by today.  We hope that you will join us again tomorrow to learn what the newest theme for Challenge #11 will be.

Challenge #9 Top Seven: Voting Open January 13th to January 20th, 2014

Welcome to the Challenge #9 PoP ToP!

Interestingly we had almost half the number of participants in our December challenge on JOY than we did the month before.  I honestly would have thought it'd been an easy theme since almost every kind of Christmas card has joy in it.  Well, let me just say thank you so much to those of you who did take the time out of an extremely busy month to be part of our Pathway.  The projects and posts that were submitted were definitely filled with joy!  Hopefully, you will all be able to carry that joy with you into all the months of this brand new year as well.

Given the quality of creations and reflections, it was once again a difficult decision choosing our top seven but we seemed to have come to a consensus.  In case you are new and wondering why seven and not the typical three, four or even five?  Well, we strive to be different over here on the Path of Positivity.  Additionally, seven is a spiritual number and thus right in the wheelhouse of the vibe we are looking to project; so, seven it is.  So, without further ado, please let me introduce you to the Top Seven for Challenge #9 (in no particular order)...

Congrats Ladies...

As a participant who has been chosen in our Top Seven, each of you is entitled to a special Top Seven badge. Please email me by clicking HERE, with the subject "Challenge #9 Top Seven" and I'll email your badge to you. It may take me several days to get back to you so I appreciate your patience.

Have Your Say!

Now the really hard work starts.  It is time for you, our readers, to vote for your favourite entry.  Which participant most inspires you?  Remember, you are not necessarily voting on a creation that was made.  You might simply find what the person had to say in their post to be inspiring and optimistic and in line with the concept of joy.  In fact, once again one of our top seven doesn't have a creation at all but she does have a beautifully written post expounding on the concept of joy. Therefore, please be sure to go and check out the entries first and not just make your choices off of the thumbnails.  Once you have checked all the entries out,  let us know who your favourite choice is by placing your vote below using the Inlinkz feature.

Voting open for 7 days:
January 13th to January 20th

Please note that the voting week has been reduced down from ten days to seven.  I am doing this in hopes of being able to provide our design team more time to discuss our choice for most inspiring creation for the winners post.  So, come have your say in determining the Voter's Choice for Challenge #9!  Don't forget to leave a comment after you have voted.  There will be a prize for one lucky voter who leaves a comment (chosen randomly).  If you haven't had the opportunity to visit each of the top seven choices already, please go and check them out a little more closely before placing your vote.  Once you have made your decision, why not go back and let them know how they inspired you.

Good luck everyone!

Important  Note:

Please note that in order for this to work, I must add all the entries but I can only do this AFTER I have published this post.  So there will be some overlap time between when this post is published and when you will be able to vote.  Once I have uploaded the entries there will be a total of seven images below on which to vote.  As soon as all seven are uploaded, I'll enable voting to begin. If there are less than seven, it means that I am still in the process of adding the images and you should come back in a little while to make your vote.  Thank you for your patience!

Challenge #9--Midway Reflection & Voting Reminder

Hello everyone! We have reached the midway point of Challenge #9. The theme for this challenge is all about JOY. Today I am going to share a little introspection with you all that I am also presenting on my own personal blog in my "Motivational Monday" feature.

 A Season of Mixed Emotions

It seems that in a very short period of time, the new year will be upon us. How has your holiday season been so far? Did you slow down enough to actually enjoy it? Did you find some quiet time to sit and meditate on what the new year may bring? For most of us, this is a time of great joy as we prepare for and commemorate the many religious holidays and other winter celebrations that the season brings with it. However, there are some who find this time of year extremely difficult.   For anyone who has lost a loved one, for anyone who is dealing with depression, for anyone who is separated from family for one reason or another, for anyone who is lost or alone, the holiday season can be extremely difficult to get through.  Even people who are in a good place in their lives can find the holidays difficult due to the enormous stress that they manage to heap on themselves to ensure that this time of year is special for everyone around them.  So while joy may be the prevalent feeling among most, we need to remember that there are some individuals out there who may be experiencing other feelings.

However, the wonderful thing about the internet is that you are never truly alone. If you are reading this then you are connected to me and I to you.  Support is just a keyboard click away.  If you are one of those individuals finding this time of the season difficult please reach out to family, friends or community resources. You don’t need to deal with your anxieties by yourself.  Take a moment to try and surround yourself with joyful activities or fun filled moments to help lift you back up.  If you are here, then you have come to a great place for helping you find your positivity once again.  Visit the DT members and all the entrants in the current challenge to help you rediscover a little bit of joy.

Most importantly, know that you are not alone.  There is a whole community of people here to inspire your joy to reemerge once again.
To help inspire you down the path of joy, check out the wonderful projects a couple of my Design Team had the opportunity to create...

Samara used my absolute favourite image from one of our on-going sponsors Ike's Art.  It is called Spring Fairy. I just love the feeling that I experience every time I see it.  It truly fills me with incredible joy.  If you are interested in purchasing this beautiful image, click on the watermark to head over to its location in Ike's store.

Just before we continue to the other midway projects, I just wanted to mention that this will be Samara's last appearance with us as part of the Design Team.  It has been wonderful having her on board these last few months.  Please join me in wishing her much success in all her future endeavours!
 Next up is...

Vicky has used a sweet image from one of our amazing regular sponsors, Creative Bug Digitals.  This image is called Snowman.  If you are interested in purchasing this cutie-pie, let me know and I'll make arrangements for you to buy it.  The store is currently being revamped but I'm sure Naomi would be able to sell it to you somehow.

 Next up is...

Ike has used the sweet image called Have a Tweet Christmas from our guest sponsor this month, Fresh Brewed Designs.  He is such a precious little snowman isn't he?  You can purchase this adorable little guy by clicking on the watermark which will take you directly to the store.

Donna from Creative Smiles, who is our guest designer this month, created this precious project...
Donna has used the adorable image called Ballerina, also from Creative Bug Digitals.  If you are interested in purchasing this sweet young lady, just let me know.

Clicking on the team members name (or in the case of our GDT, the blog name) will take you to their blog where you can check out the details for their inspirational creations!
So if you haven't entered already, what are you waiting for?  Create a project and/or post that is positive AND relates to joy, provide an explanation of how your project and/or post relates to the theme somewhere in your post or come over and leave a comment with the explanation.  Easy, peasy!  You can enter our latest challenge by clicking HERE.

Also, I know that the participants would love for you to go and pay them a visit.  Remember we're creating a Path of Positivity to follow one project at a time and we'd love to see you somewhere on that route even if it just by leaving a comment on an entry from someone who has touched you somehow with their project and/or post!

If you are new to this unique challenge, you can find out the impetus behind why I started it under the 'Introductions' tab and all the details you need to know in order to participate, in the 'Challenge Details' tab (both tabs located at the top of the blog).

Don't Forget...

You still have until 11:55 p.m. tonight, to vote on your favourite entry for Challenge #8.  Voting is quick, easy and painless so I hope you will consider casting your vote if you haven't already.  Don't forget, if you leave a comment after voting, you have the opportunity to walk away with a selection of digital papers created especially with your interests in mind. To check out the Top Seven and cast your vote, click HERE.  Also, please note that since it is Christmas week next week, the winners announcement for Challenge #8 will not take place.  Instead we will post the winner's names on December 30th.
