Challenge #109

Anything Goes POSITIVE with the Opt. Twist of

Design a Creation Inspired By FASHION

This year's goal is to take a look at the things around us that can inspire us in our creative journeys. As such, if you would like to participate in the optional twist this month, we want you to Design a Creation Inspired By FASHION.

Clothing is an integral part of a person’s life. The world of fashion is always evolving as one can see when they reflect back through the previous decades and centuries. Each piece of clothing has a purpose and what we select to wear reveals the story of who we are or who we want to be; how we see the world and how we want the world to see us. It helps us to showcase who we are as a person by communicating facts about our personality, our background, our culture and our unique sense of style. Through clothing, there is no end to how one can express oneself.

With new fabrics and applications being developed constantly, the progression of the fashion industry is endless. With so many colours, patterns and textures surrounding us, fashion can inspire creativity in so many ways. In fact, two very unique and creative dresses are making their way through the news, both having recently premiered at the 71st Miss Universe Pageant. Whether one enjoys or dislikes these types of pageants, one can't deny the ingenuity behind two of the outfits. A dress made out of soda tabs was worn by Miss Thailand, and a cape made from recycled water bottles was worn by Miss USA (click HERE if you want to see a picture of the 1st, and HERE for the 2nd). And, have you seen the countless dresses made from toilet paper (a quick search on google will showcase many options or you can click HERE to check out a few of them)?! The imagination of fashion designers really has no bounds!

During the month of February, Fashion Week will be celebrated in New York, Madrid, London, Milan and Paris. While people across the world celebrate fashion and what it means to them, it is a great time to show your own readers how FASHION has inspired YOU in your own creative journey.

In order to be considered eligible for this month's honours and prize, remember that general types of projects/posts will not qualify for the prizes UNLESS they are also positive, inspirational, motivational or encouraging in some nature. Additionally, even if a project may qualify as positive, if your post promotes negativity, hatred or anything of an abhorrent nature, your project will be disqualified. Honours and Prizes include:
  • $6 worth of images from Scribbles Designs, for a person chosen in a random draw based on all qualifying entrants.
  • A badge for the following honours: Top Pick, Voter's Choice, Most Inspirational, Random Winner, DT Delight.

Thanks again to my fabulous design team! As always, each of them have their own exceptional approaches and concepts which impress me to no end. Each of these creations has demonstrated the theme of Creating Something Inspired By FASHION admirably, and I hope we have encouraged you throughout this challenge to come up with your own piece of handiwork. Be sure to go and visit these talented ladies so you can see just how their projects tie in to the twist.

Why not join us, if you haven't entered already? Create a project and/or post that is positive, inspirational, motivational or encouraging in some nature and join our link up. How about stretching yourself by also opting to follow the twist?! While it isn't mandatory, we'd also love to find out how this month's twist affects your own life. We are all influenced by fashion in one way or another, whether we dress up to the nines or live in sweats. What influences your own particular style when it comes to fashion? You can write a sentence or two in the body of your post, write a sentence at the bottom of your post next to the link up for this challenge, or simply leave a comment on this post if you'd like.

Also, I know that the participants would love for you to go and pay them a visit. Remember we're creating a Path of Positivity to follow one project at a time and we'd love to see you somewhere on that route even if it is just by leaving a comment on an entry from someone who has touched you somehow with their project and/or post! You can find our list of participants and enter our latest challenge yourself by clicking HERE and scrolling down to the bottom of the post.
