____________________________________________________________
It is the first Monday in April and that means it is time for the next challenge to start. This time around, for Challenge #13 the theme is "PEACE". Show us your interpretation of what peace means to you. You can make any sort of project and/or post as long as it is positive in nature and relates to the theme. Peace is something so fragile but so important for our co-existence in this great beautiful world of ours. Peace in our families is as important as peace in our countries and sometimes just as difficult to achieve. How will you interpret the idea of peace? We look forward to seeing your projects and/or passages.
Don't forget when you link up your project and/or post, to please leave a comment letting us know how your creation relates to the concept of peace if it isn't readily clear within the design itself or clearly written somewhere else in your post. Remember, the creation must be positive/inspirational/motivational AND adhere to the theme of peace in order to be considered eligible for this month's prizes. While you may easily see how peace relates to your creation, it may not be as apparent to me or the DT members. That is why we ask that you clarify it somewhere, whether here or in your blogpost. This way it clears up any ambiguity that may exist.
Now it is time to meet our guest sponsor for this month. We have someone brand new joining us for this challenge. Please welcome...
Sparkle N Sprinkle is a small company with a big heart owned and operated by Margaret Myers. SNS specializes in hand-mixed embossing powders and glitters. Our quality, deeply etched rubber stamps are closely cropped on Cling Mount Cushion ready for your acrylic block. Produced in our local Shoppe in Ruskin, Florida, the stamps are already indexed on a laminated color storage sheet for your convenience. SNS sells a variety of other paper crafting tools and products, including a new line of digital stamps and many other exclusive products. You can find Sparkle N Sprinkle on line at: http://sparklensprinkle.com
Now normally at the challenge start, I would list the images that we got to work with. However, Sparkle N Sprinkle has very generously allowed the DT to pick whatever image(s) they wanted to work with. Therefore, I'll provide the image watermark and store link under each card to keep things organized.
Desíre chose to work with two images. The main image is called Chickadees which has been in the store for a while and the artist is not know. Desíre also worked with the Dahlia Leaf created by Rosiland Solomon and used it as an accent piece.
Vicky decided to create a card this time around and chose A Winter Wonderland also created by Rosiland Solomon.
Monica decided to work with the pretty image called Bahama Woodstar also created by Rosiland Solomon.
Pat went with the image called Workbench created by Penny Lane.
We are very pleased to have Annie, from Memories to Keep, as our guest designer this month...
Hello, aNNie here from New south Wales, Australia. I live in an old mining town called Newcastle after moving here from South Australia. A great place to live in and we have the best beaches and climate in Australia. Crafting of any kind is what I love, though I have lately been making cards and try to finish my scrapbooking. My favourite markers are Copic, but I also use Pro and Flexi and Spectrum Noirs. Lately I have been playing with pencils. Two years ago I retired from my beloved nursing career to care for my dad who is now 101, and recently I had to put him onto a nursing home due to his failing health. My visits to him range from 3-4 hours a day...I have 3 grown children and 3 grandchildren. Most of my time is now spent working on my laptop creating and chatting with all of my gorgeous cyber buddies. My Silhouette Cameo and Cricut Expressions are my friends along with my hubby and dog...I am also an addict of dies....
Annie worked with the set called Chick.
Gosh, I really do have the best team and guests, don't I? These are all unique creations and interpretations of the concept of PEACE. Now if we could only carry this feeling around with us all the time, how much happier we would be.
So what are you waiting for? Create a project and/or post that is positive AND relates to peace, provide an explanation of how your project and/or post relates to the theme somewhere in your post or come over and leave a comment with the explanation. Easy, peasy!
If you have some time, please visit other people participating throughout the month. I've included the summary of the challenge details below. If you are new to this unique challenge, you can find out the impetus behind why I started it under the 'Introductions' tab and all the details you need to know in order to participate, in the 'Challenge Details' tab (both tabs located at the top of the blog).
I hope to see you back on Monday, April 14th when voting will start on the Top Seven for Challenge #12. That is of course if Microsoft hasn't won and I survive having to start over from scratch basically.

I just discovered this challenge blog today, and it's wonderful! I added my card to your challenge because I created it as a sympathy card and I wanted it to give the viewer a sense of peace and acceptance. I kept it rather monochromatic with some soft blended edges, and I stamped off the music background as well as the flowers so they would not be so bold.
I almost forgot I planned to enter card No. 16 in this Peace challenge. Thanks for the fabulous DT inspiration and the wonderful challenges. This young lady has such a peaceful look on her face. She is looking at the beautiful butterfly; which made me think of the feeling of peace; when I saw her. I love butterflies; which also remind me of the many blessings we have in our lives. This sentiment and the inside sentiment; remind the giver and the receiver how much it means to count our blessings. "Blessings Brighten When We Count Them". I have always been told that if I am discouraged, feeling sorry for myself or feeling depressed; to write down what I am grateful for; and as you write; you will feel a sense of peace. It works for me; so give it a try. There is always something to be grateful for; even if it is just that the sun is shining or that it is raining. I hope to encourage the person who receives this card; to feel a sense of peace when they read the sentiments and see all the gorgeous butterflies. Thanks again Lisa and your DT. Love your challenges. Have a great day! Hugs, Gloria
