Design Team Delights for Challenge #20

It is time to share our favourite entries for Challenge #20.  As always, in each challenge you, the readers, get to voice your opinion by voting for your favourite and so it is only fitting that my Design Team get to do so as well.

Thanks to everyone who took the time to join along our Path during the month of November for Challenge #20.  While it is always a difficult decision, several team member managed to find a particular entry that really caught their attention.  Take a look...
Mimi----chosen by Vicky...
Vicky had this to say:
"My DT Delight choice is Mimi.  I never thought of sympathy cards as a thank you for the memories and it really touched me! This is a quote from her blog":
"I don't know about you, but I find, when somebody who has left an impression on you during their time on earth passes you are left with some wonderful memories to carry you through with your journey here on earth. That is the basis of this card, 'Thank you for the memories'".

Jo Ann--chosen by Pat...
This is what Pat had to say:
"My DT Delight choice is J Atterbury. She has a grateful soul and is appreciative of all she has, even when things aren't going her way."

Stephanie--chosen by Desíre...
Here is what Desíre had to say:
"My DT Delight choice is Stephanie.  She had this to say, which I am sure will resound with most of us":
"It's so easy to take those closest to us for granted. Our words have a tremendous power to encourage or discourage our loved ones. Just a simple, "thanks for taking out the trash" or "I appreciate all you do to provide for us" or "thanks for listening" can mean so much. It doesn't matter if it's their "job," appreciation is like food for the soul. This year, let's make a point to let our loved ones know that we do notice and appreciate the little things (as well as the big things) they do for us."

Hanne--chosen by Penny...
Penny said this:
"My DT Delight choice is Hanne. The card itself is a fabulous design; I love the neutral palette, the die cuts, the papers, the image, and the coloring. I think the sentiment, (I am grateful for my morning coffee!), is perfect for Hanne's feelings toward gratitude. To quote her":
"I personally try to be grateful every day all year round and I'm grateful for both the big things and smaller joys in life."
"What's not to love about that?  :^) "

Donna--chosen by Suze...
Here is what Suze had to say:
"My DT Delight choice is Donna. I love the thought and effort she has put into recycling the container and her comments regarding gratitude summed up in this sentence":
"WE ARE GRATEFUL for all the people who have sacrificed and served in some capacity to help others and/or to serve our country."
To see the details of Donna's creation and read more of what she had to say click HERE.
Ike--chosen by Lisa (that's me)...
My choice this time around is Ike.  I really love the tribute that she made for her dad whom she has recently lost.  This beautiful memoriam is not only in tribute of the man himself but also of the service he did for his country.  There are so many service men and woman who put their lives on the line daily to protect us.  Many we have lost.  It is important that we show just how grateful we are to these incredibly brave individuals, any way that we are able to.

Creative Congratulations to all of you!

The People Have Spoken: Winners From Challenge #20

It is time to announce the winners from Challenge #20.  This was a tight race for both the Voter's Choice category and the Most Inspirational Choice.  One vote separated the Voter's Choice from the two projects tied in second place.  Just one more reason it is so important to vote. Every single one can help your favourite project.  Additionally,  the team also found it very difficult to decide on just one for the Most Inspirational category.  Three were running neck in neck there too, with our final choice edging out on top with just one vote as well.  So, without further ado, here are the choices...

For some reason, there is no "little grey heart" appearing for me to click on and vote. Is there any chance that I can just tell you I'd like all my votes to go for Stephanie Wright's cards. Not only are her cards always BEAUTIFUL, but she is such an encouraging and beautiful servant of God who is always blessing others with her kind words and sweet spirit. She gets my votes!

Challenge #21--Midway Reflection & Voting Reminder

Hello everyone! We have reached the midway point of Challenge #21. The theme for this challenge is all about FAITH.   As usual, I am going to share a little introspection with you all that I am also presenting on my own personal blog in my "Motivational Monday" feature.

Have a Little Faith

According to the Google dictionary, the definition for faith is as follows:
fāTH/
noun
  1. complete trust or confidence in someone or something.
  2. strong belief in God or in the doctrines of a religion, based on spiritual apprehension rather than proof.
  3. a strongly held belief or theory.

Faith like love, is something that must be experienced. It is not something that you can touch or hold. While faith doesn't necessarily have to with spirituality alone, there is a quote in the Bible that describes faith quite succintly, "Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen" (Hebrews 11:1). Faith is an acceptance, a belief, a hope--the complete trust in someone or something, even though there is no visible proof for it.

Now that we've looked at what faith is, let us briefly explore why it is important.  You may not realize it but you experience a type of general faith,  many times over, every single day.  Right from the get go each morning, many have faith that their alarm will go off on time to allow them to get a start on their day.  Then it is having faith that their car will start or the bus will be on time, to get them to where they need to be. Most have faith that the people around them know what they are doing.  Trusting everyone from the doctor making a proper diagnosis to trusting that the pharmacist knows one medication from another relies on faith.  Trusting that people are competent in their various roles and duties so that society will run efficiently, runs on faith as well.  Without faith in yourself and those around you, you would more than likely have difficulty getting anything accomplished.

Though secular faith might be more prevalent in one's day to day life, it is spiritual faith that most people generally think of when they hear the word “faith.” We are surrounded in our lives by people belonging to a variety of religions and spiritual groups, each having a system of beliefs that they hold to.  Adhering to religious doctrines and values can be very important and life changing for those people involved.  For many individuals facing challenges in their lives, turning to the faith of their religion can help them believe that things will work out the way they are supposed to even if the road there is an arduous one.  Spiritual faith helps to keep people moving.

Whether looked at from a general perspective or from a spiritual one, faith allows us to exist, believing in the wise words of Bob Marley, that "every little thing, is gonna be alright."  It allows us to push forward through each day with a sense of peace if we allow it.  There is a really great quote that I found that exemplifies this ideal, "Every tomorrow has two handles. We can take hold of it by the handle of anxiety, or by the handle of faith" (Author Unknown).  I know which handle I am grabbing.  Do you?
