Design Team Delights for Challenge #39--ACHIEVEMENT

Hello to you all on this last Monday of August! It is time to share our favourite entries for Challenge #39.  As always, in each challenge you, the readers, get to voice your opinion by voting for your favourite and so it is only fitting that my Design Team get to do so as well.

Thanks to everyone who took the time to join along our Path during the month of June for Challenge #39Check out the entries that really caught our attention...

Cici--chosen by Katrina, Julie and Pippa...

Katrina said this:
"My DT Delight is Cici.
I love what Cicci shared about her mom and that background is amazing!"

Julie had this to say:
"My DT Delight is also
Cici. I love her coloring on this and the tutorial she did on the sea grass. Excellent!"

Here is what Pippa had to say:
"My DT Delight is also
Cici. I was completely blown away by the amazing background."

Deanne-chosen by Suze...

Suze said this:
"My DT Delight is
Deanne. I love the cheerfulness of this project with a lovely image and great sentiment."

Sheila--chosen by Lisa (that's me)...

My DT Delight is Sheila. She created a panel on the theme of achievement which was apparently quite the task as she made it while on vacation without much of her crafting gear.  She has spelled out the word 'fly' (which she pairs with the word 'soar'), and high' (which she pairs with the word 'aim'), with some beads she purchased and most of the other elements came from a craft magazine she brought with her. She also used a praying image which she originally wouldn't have added if it hadn't been for her lack of supplies. However, using this image gave her the idea of aiming high and doing one's best, all with the help of prayer.

Pippa left a comment and I couldn't have said it any better. Here is what she said: " I love your thought on prayer underpinning all our aspirations and helping us to achieve, so easy to forget that at times". It is important that we remember to talk to our higher power, regardless of who that it may be, when we are working towards an achievement. Prayer has been proven to be powerful and when we're working towards our goals, we can use all the help and inspiration we can get.

Challenge #39 Top Pick: Voting Open August 8th to 15th, 2016

WELCOME TO THE CHALLENGE #39 POP TOP!

Hello folks.  It is time to get on with showcasing the top picks for Challenge #39. This time around we only had five entries!  That is one less even that the last challenge. I did find it surprising given the number of graduation cards being made. Once again, with so few entries, we will be opening things up so that those five entrants have the opportunity to be chosen as the Voter's Choice. We do this any time we have less than 14 participants. And, while we may not have enough participants to have a top seven, or even a top three, we certainly have enough to have a top pick. Therefore, it is time to get on with showcasing the one project that touched the team the most.

Thus, without further ado, please let me introduce you to the Top Pick for Challenge #39...

Congrats Debi B...

As a participant who has been chosen as a Top Pick in this challenge,
you are entitled to a special Challenge #39 Top Pick Badge.
Please feel free to grab a copy for your blog...

Now as I mentioned earlier, each of the participant's who entered Challenge #39 AND FOLLOWED THE THEME & RULES is eligible to have their project and/or post voted on. Here is a list of those participants. Each of the entrant's names is linked up to their blog post (order is reflective of how they entered the challenge and nothing else).

Deanne
Cici
Debi B.
Hanne
Sheila J.

HAVE YOUR SAY!

Now the really hard work starts. It is time for you, our readers, to vote for your favourite entry. Which participant most inspires you? Remember, you are not necessarily voting on a creation that was made. You might simply find what the person had to say in their post to be inspiring and optimistic and in line with the concept of ACHIEVEMENT. Please be sure to go and check out the entries first and not just make your choices off of the thumbnails. Once you have checked all the entries out,  let us know who your favourite choice is by placing your vote below using the Inlinkz feature.

Voting open for 7 days:
August 8th to
August 15th

Come have your say in determining the Voter's Choice for Challenge #39! Don't forget to leave a comment after you have voted. There will be a prize for one lucky person who leaves a comment on one of this month's posts (chosen randomly from a selection of posts related to Challenge #39). If you haven't had the opportunity to visit each of the entries already, please go and check them out a little more closely before placing your vote. Once you have made your decision, why not go back and let them know how they inspired you.

Good luck everyone!

Hello everyone!  It is time to get on with the midway for Challenge #39. The theme for this challenge is ACHIEVEMENT.  We are a people driven by achievement.  These achievements, big and small should be celebrated.  Right now we have only one card linked up to our challenge.  With all the graduation cards out there right now, I'm rather saddened that we don't have more participants joining us for this challenge.  If you are reading this, I really hope that you'll be able to join us this month.  Need some additional motivation to get you started?  Be sure to check out Pat's Pondering this month (which you can find HERE) for some words of inspiration on the subject.

Anyway, now it is time to get on with our midway!

Here are the watermarks and links for the wonderful images that the team worked with for the midway.

Ponderings Along the Pathway...ACHIEVEMENT

Welcome to this month's edition of Ponderings Along the Pathway, an exclusive feature over here on the Path of Positivity.  The purpose of this column is to continue with the goal of this blog which is to create a space "designed to inspire, nurture and provide support for the soul by creating a positive path to follow, one project or post at a time".  Providing some motivational introspection on the themes we cover each challenge period, is one way of achieving this goal.

This month it is all about ACHIEVEMENT and PAT is here to share her thoughts on the subject...
Have you ever noticed a person who ignores or argues a compliment? …a student not satisfied with the good grades he or she is getting? …a woman who sees herself as fat no matter what she weighs or how much she’s lost? We’ve all met people like this; in fact, we may be a person like this! All these beautiful achievements being ignored or denied through a lack of self-love!

It’s time to give yourself a big hug. It’s time to celebrate your achievements instead of refusing to acknowledge them. It’s time to step onto the path of positivity, setting a pace of self-forgiveness and self-love. Of course, taking that first step seems almost impossible, but a body (and a mind) in motion tends to stay in motion. All you need is a little push. So today, think of me as your trainer.

According to Gabrielle Bernstein, a New York Times best-seller, she insists that we all must witness our fears, be willing to change our perceptions, be grateful, forgive ourselves, and expect miracles. (Bernstein, Gabrielle. May Cause Miracles: A 40-day Guidebook of Subtle Shifts for Radical Change and Unlimited Happiness. New York: Harmony, 2013.)

By witnessing our fears, we understand why we don’t love ourselves. My own fear is that I may sound too prideful or arrogant, an attitude learned as a child. We learn as children to be humble, but often that can morph into self-effacement.

I want to change my perception of the way I see my achievements. I can do this by listening to the people I love. They can identify and applaud those accomplishments I deny. Do I feel they’re lying or just being nice? No, I think they love me more than I love myself! That has got to change!

Gratefulness is something everyone needs to practice. I have gone to bed counting my blessings for years, but it wasn’t until last summer that I realized that the some of the things for which I am grateful are gifts I was given, whether it was written in my DNA or a skill or talent that I (me, myself) worked to become proficient at. In other words, an achievement I did not give credence to until then.

Every master was once an apprentice. I read that some famous artists used to paint over more canvases than they showed. I am learning how to water color, and for every painting I create, I throw at least one away (hey, just like the masters!) It used to dig at my self-confidence, but by forgiving myself for failures, I can become more successful.

I believe in miracles—they happen every day! In fact, I look for signs of miracles all the time. It could be a sunny day when a picnic is planned, or a job hire when you thought the odds were against you. Personally, my husband lost his job just before Christmas, and a couple months afterwards, he received a diagnosis that ended his ability to work again. In researching his illness, I have read stories of survival well past the “normal time you have” prognoses given by his doctors. I expect a miracle in that I can enjoy my life past our fortieth anniversary this year. Regardless if this comes true or not, I will live and love him every day I have left with him.

No matter where your life has led you and continues to lead you, you have worked at and achieved things in your life. Don’t deny them, don’t unconsciously call your friends liars by refuting their compliments, don’t live an unhappy life when you can take charge and realize your strengths, your courage, your talents and your achievements. You deserve it! You are worth the effort! Go for the gold!

What achievements will you realize as you journey along life's Pathway?  I hope they are numerous and more importantly make a positive difference in your life.

Well folks, that is it for today but please be sure to join us on Monday for the midway.  Enjoy your weekend everyone!

Challenge #39--ACHIEVEMENT...June 6th to July 3rd

It is the first Monday in June and that means it is time for the next challenge to start.  This time around, for Challenge #39 the theme is "ACHIEVEMENT".  Show us your interpretation of what achievement means to you.  You can make any sort of project and/or post as long as it is positive in nature and relates to the theme.

We may hide it well but we are a species that is bent on achievement.  What is that phrase from the 70's--"trying to keep up with the Jones'".  Well, unfortunately not much has changed in that respect.  There are still people bent on outdoing their neighbours, their friends and even their family members.  Thankfully, however, there are people out there that merely look at achievement as a way of bettering themselves, not measuring themselves up to others, and truly that is the best way to look at it, as far as I'm concerned.  We should celebrate those achievements that help bring about something positive in our own unique environments which will hopefully contribute something positive to the greater world around us.

This month, think of someone whom you know who has achieved something important to them.  Maybe you know of a child who has recently graduated, or even an adult that has been working for years to get their degree!  Perhaps you know of someone who has finally received the promotion that they have been working towards or someone who is finally able to retire after many years of service.  Maybe you know of a family who have finally been able to save up enough money to go on a special vacation.  Is their someone you know that has recently lost weight?  That is definitely another achievement to praise.  So is celebrating a couple who have finally become pregnant after years of trying.  Perchance you have your own achievement that you'd like to share with pictures or art.  Coming up with a reason to celebrate someone's accomplishments is easy if you think about it.  Achievements big or small, they should all be memorialized.

As usual my team, has come up with some interesting ideas so be sure to pop over to their blogs and see how their creations connect with the concept of this challenge.   What direction will you go in?  Whatever approach you take, we look forward to seeing your interpretation on this month's theme.

Don't forget when you link up your project and/or post, to please leave a comment letting us know how your creation relates to the concept of achievement if it isn't readily clear within the design itself or clearly written somewhere else in your post.  Remember, the creation must be positive/inspirational/motivational AND adhere to the theme of achievement in order to be considered eligible for this month's prizes.  While you may easily see how achievement relates to your creation, it may not be as apparent to me or the DT members.  That is why we ask that you clarify it somewhere, whether here or in your blogpost.  You can simply write a sentence at the bottom of your post next to the link up for this challenge, if it would be easier.  We just need to know how your project ties into the theme.  Letting us know, clears up any ambiguity that may exist.
