Ch. #97--Opt. Twist: GIVE/HELP Others...Midway

Hey folks! Welcome back to the Path of Positivity Challenge Blog! Sorry to my team members and readers alike that I'm two days late in posting the midway for Challenge #97. This last week and a half continued to be a struggle at times waiting to hear whether my father would be okay and thankfully he is no longer considered critical. In fact, he is now back at home with my mom who was released just shortly after my last post. Both are extremely weak, exhausted and dealing with the lingering effects of covid (and for my dad, the after effects of having a bad pneumonia as well). Thankfully, for now they have a personal support worker or someone from the Covid Team, checking on them daily throughout the weekdays but it is definitely a challenge for the two of them to look after themselves properly when they are so weak. They have been told that it will take MONTHS before they are back to their normal selves. It is a challenging journey ahead but thanks for all your well wishes and prayers. They certainly helped. It is my fond hope that each of you and your own families continue to stay well wherever it is you live in this big wide world of ours.

As we are a unique kind of challenge blog, it is important for you to understand how things work. Please be sure to check out the START POST FOUND HERE for the specific details related to this month's challenge, and you can find out all the general details you need to know in order to participate, by clicking on the 'Challenge Details' tab (located at the top of the blog). For your convenience, a summary of the most important rules can now be found in the right sidebar under the heading 'General Rules'.

Right now, it is time to continue with our midway. Here is a refresher of the details for our current twist:

Challenge #97

Optional Twist:

GIVE/HELP Others

As we finish off this year's goal to encourage you to usher more positivity into your life, this month we want you to design a creation that focuses on GIVING TO or HELPING OTHERS.  A giving heart is a joyful, Positive heart. With the holiday season upon us, it is the perfect time to reflect on things and see what we might be able to give to others, or perhaps look at ways we could provide assistance to others. This could include the obvious gift giving aspect or one might choose to go with a ‘thinking of you’ or charity sort of idea. This month, may you find ways to GIVE AND/OR HELP others in your effort to continue walking the Path of Positivity.

In order to be considered eligible for this month's prizes, remember that general types of projects/posts will not qualify for the prizes UNLESS they are also positive, inspirational, motivational or encouraging in some nature. Additionally, even if a project may qualify as positive, if your post promotes negativity, hatred or anything of an abhorrent nature, your project will be disqualified. Prizes this month include:
  • TWO images from All Dressed Up Stamps, our guest sponsor for this month, for a person chosen in a random draw based on all qualifying entrants.
  • ONE image (value of $5 or less) from Scribbles Designs, for the post or project that the team deems most inspiring of the bunch based on all qualifying entrants.
  • One digital image from Creative Bug Digital SnapShots for each person chosen as a DT Delight.

Talking of our sponsors...

To learn more about All Dressed Up Stamps, this month's guest sponsor, be sure to check out the START post; and of course, also pay this generous company a visit.

During the midway, you will also be seeing projects from half of the team using images from Scribbles Designs, one of our on-going sponsors. Scribbles Designs will be providing the prize for the Most Inspirational choice during each challenge in 2021. Please be sure to pop over and check out the amazing images offered up by Sandy Sommerfeld, the designer behind Scribbles Designs.

To help inspire you further down the path of being GIVING TO or HELPING OTHERS, check out the wonderful projects my Design Team had the opportunity to create.

Clicking on each team member's name will take you to their blog where you can check out the details for their inspirational creations. If you are interested in purchasing the image featured in a particular creation, you can click on the link indicated below the project…

Thanks again to my fabulous design team! As always, each of them have their own exceptional approaches and concepts which impress me to no end. Each of these creations has demonstrated the theme of being GIVING TO or HELPING Others admirably and I hope we have encouraged you throughout this challenge to come up with your own piece of handiwork. Be sure to go and visit these talented ladies so you can see just how their projects tie in to the twist.

Why not join us, if you haven't entered already? Create a project and/or post that is positive, inspirational, motivational or encouraging in some nature and join our link up. How about stretching yourself by also opting to follow the twist?! While it isn't mandatory, we'd also love to find out how this month's twist affects your own life. What do you do to GIVE to or HELP Others? Do you volunteer your time? Do you donate to various organizations? The holiday season is the perfect time to get into the habit of GIVING TO or HELPING Others. This month, think about how you can best do that with your own time and resources. If you'd like to tell us how you GIVE/HELP Others, we'd love to hear it. You can write a sentence or two in the body of your post, write a sentence at the bottom of your post next to the link up for this challenge, or simply leave a comment on this post if you'd like.

Also, I know that the participants would love for you to go and pay them a visit. Remember we're creating a Path of Positivity to follow one project at a time and we'd love to see you somewhere on that route even if it is just by leaving a comment on an entry from someone who has touched you somehow with their project and/or post! You can find our list of participants and enter our latest challenge yourself by clicking HERE and scrolling down to the bottom of the post.

Ch. #96 Top Picks: Voting Open Dec. 13 to Dec. 20/21

WELCOME TO THE CHALLENGE #96 POP TOP!

Hello folks! I hope that your Path this past week has included a number of positive moments along the route and that you and your families are all doing your best to stay healthy and happy.

Sorry that I have yet to publish the winner announcement. I'm still working on it. As I mentioned during the start post for this month, my father was in the hospital diagnosed with covid. While my father was released this past Wed., my mother was admitted. It was inevitable that she develop it as well. I spent the last few days desperately trying to convince my father to call an ambulance and head back in as he has progressively gotten worse since his release. He finally relented last night and it was a good thing, as he was considered critical this morning. My mother has become worse as well. As a result, most of my time is spent dealing with this current crisis.

I did have some time yesterday to get this post ready but unfortunately, I just didn't have the time or energy to frame the top picks like I typically would. Other than that, it is time to present the top picks from the last challenge. Just a reminder that we will not be having a winner announcement for Challenge #96 as it was simply for fun. We'll simply be having a Top Picks which we're posting today.

Since we had 22 awesome entries in Challenge #96 (click HERE to see the original challenge with the theme of BE GRATEFUL), it is time to get on with showcasing the seven projects and/or write-ups that touched the team the most. In case you are new and wondering why seven and not the typical three, four or even five? Any time that we have more than 14 entries, we have a top seven (with 14 entries or under we just have a top three). We always strive to be a bit different over here on the Path of Positivity and this is just another way to do so. Additionally, seven is a spiritual number and thus right in the wheelhouse of the vibe we are looking to project; so, seven it is when enough people join in.

Thus, without further ado, please let me introduce you to the Top Picks for Challenge #96

HAVE YOUR SAY!

Now the really hard work starts. It is time for you, our readers, to vote for your favourite entry. Which participant most inspires you? Remember, you are not necessarily voting on a creation that was made. You might simply find what the person had to say in their post to be inspiring and optimistic. Please be sure to go and check out the entries first and not just make your choices off of the thumbnails. Then, let us know who your favourite choice is by placing your vote below using the Linky Tools feature. Once you have made your decision, why not go back and let that person know how she inspired you.

 Good luck everyone!

Ch. #97--Opt. Twist: GIVE/HELP Others...Dec. 6─Jan. 3

Hello everyone and welcome to the Path of Positivity Challenge Blog! It is the first Monday of the month and it is time for our latest challenge to begin! We hope that you and your families continue to stay healthy. It is crazy to think that Christmas and other December holidays will be here in the blink of an eye!

Apologies that I still haven't had the chance to post the last winner announcement. I had the opportunity to go and visit my parents for the first time in two years at the end of November and instead of our scheduled four days we ended up staying six days. I've experienced a lot of stress these past few years worrying about my parents as both have been in and out of the hospital. I'm afraid that things will continue to be a little wonky with posting because now my dad is back in the hospital after another bad fall AND he has been diagnosed with Covid. My thoughts are focused on worrying about him and my mother alone at home; as such, my posting might be somewhat erratic over this next month. Just wanted to give you a heads up.

Since we are not your typical challenge blog, it is important for you to understand how things work in order to be sure you are eligible to win any of the prizes offered. If you are new to this unique challenge, you can find out the impetus behind why I started it under the 'Introductions' tab and you can find out all the details you need to know in order to participate, in the 'Challenge Details' tab (both tabs located at the top of the blog). For your convenience, a summary of the most important rules can also be found in the right sidebar under the heading 'General Rules'.

Right now, it is time to get down to the business of our latest challenge. Here is what you need to know...

Talking of our guest sponsor...

We are very pleased to have All Dressed Up Stamps join us as this month's guest sponsor. It is time for us to refresh ourselves with the details of this wonderful company!

https://www.etsy.com/uk/shop/alldressedupstamps
Hi, my name’s Wendy, founder of All Dressed Up. I live in Nottingham UK with my husband and two children (my inspiration behind the characters) - in particular, my daughter who has kept me up-to-date with trends and all things digital. Day to day, I work as a textile designer working traditionally within childrenswear, fashion and interiors. Although my work is mostly digital, my work process remains hand-drawn which I hope comes across in my artwork.

All Dressed Up was created in 2013 as a place to share my digital stamps which back then was a whole new challenge for me. Since, I’ve been lucky to have discovered a whole creative community and welcomed the All Dressed Up design team who have been amazing to work with. Through our online community and Instagram, the team keep me on my toes to keep on drawing, creating and inspiring. My favourite thing is seeing how my characters are continually given brand new personalities!

On our Facebook and Instagram page we host regular tutorials, challenges (and freebies!) and is the real heart of our community. The stamps are available from the All Dressed Up Etsy shop which is continually updated on a monthly basis with lots of limited edition and seasonal stamps available in particular.

The All Dressed Up community is a friendly bunch (if I do say so myself!) and we would love for you to get involved, see your work and for you to share your stamping tips too! Do get in contact and be sure to visit our Facebook and Instagram pages to see what we’re creating at the moment.

My wonderful design team continues to outdo themselves time and time again! They each have their own style and clever interpretation of the twist. Even after all this time, I continue to be astounded by the scope of greatness in their work! Each of these artful conceptions has showcased the notion of GIVING orHELPING Others exceptionally and I hope we have inspired you. Be sure to go and visit each team member so you can see how her project further connects to the twist.

So what are you waiting for? Create a project and/or post that is positive, inspirational, motivational or encouraging in some nature and join our link up. How about stretching yourself by also opting to follow the twist?! While it isn't mandatory, we'd also love to find out how this month's twist affects your own life. Finally, remember that we're trying to create a Path of Positivity so if you have some time, please visit other people participating throughout the month.

I hope to see you back next week when voting will [hopefully] begin on the Top Picks for Challenge #96. There will be a separate post detailing those picks where you will have the opportunity to vote on the creation or post that you have found to be the most positive, inspirational or encouraging of the chosen picks. I will do my best to get the winner announcement from the last challenge posted as soon as possible as well.

Then, be sure to join us again on December 20th when we'll be back with our midway featuring more great projects made with designs from All Dressed Up Stamps along with projects made with images from Scribbles Designs, one of our on-going sponsors.

Challenge #96

Optional Twist: Be GRATEFUL

As we continue this year's goal to encourage you to usher more positivity into your life, for our OPTIONAL TWIST this month we are looking for ways to share GRATEFULNESS! It’s a great time of year to concentrate on what we have and the happy times we have experienced in our lives. It is a wonderful way to remind ourselves how positive life can be! Although times may be challenging right now, there will be good times again. In the vein of being grateful for what we already have in our life, there will be no prizes for this challenge. It will just be for fun!

It is the perfect season to be expressing gratitude especially for those of you living in the USA with Thanksgiving approaching at the end of the month. What are you GRATEFUL for in your life? Do you practice gratitude on a daily basis, maybe keep some sort of gratitude journal? How do you express your thanks to the important people in your life? Ch. #95 Top Picks: Voting Open Nov. 8 to Nov. 15/21

WELCOME TO THE CHALLENGE #95 POP TOP!

Hello folks! I hope that your Path this past week has included a number of positive moments along the route and that you and your families are all doing your best to stay healthy and happy. Sorry I'm a bit late getting the top picks posted. My hubby installed my new computer on Friday without telling me beforehand that he was going to do so, and it has caused a bit of a mess trying to get things up and running again. There is still a ton of stuff to do before my system is in working order but at least I managed to get the top picks post published today.

So on that note, it is time to present the top picks from the last challenge. Sadly, we only had eight entries in Challenge #95 (click HERE to see the original challenge with the optional twist of Fall Into a BOOK); so, for the third time this year we don't have enough entries to have a Top Seven but we did have enough people participate that we can have a Top Three. As such, it is time to get on with showcasing the three projects and/or write-ups that touched the team the most.

Thus, without further ado, please let me introduce you to the Top Picks for Challenge #95

(One of the programs I still have to install is the one that creates the frames.
Thus, I am sorry that the top picks aren't framed this week.)
