Challenge #89--Opt. Twist: MUSIC: GOOD FOR THE SOUL!...Mar. 1─Apr. 4

Hello everyone and welcome to the Path of Positivity Challenge Blog! It is the first Monday of the month and it is time for our latest challenge to begin! We hope that you and your families continue to stay healthy during this difficult time in our lives. Apologies for the delay. Of all days to lose access, we lost Internet this afternoon and it has just come back on. While I had the majority of the post ready I just had some finishing touches to add and thankfully the service stayed on to allow me to get this published.

Since we are not your typical challenge blog, it is important for you to understand how things work in order to be sure you are eligible to win any of the prizes offered. If you are new to this unique challenge, you can find out the impetus behind why I started it under the 'Introductions' tab and you can find out all the details you need to know in order to participate, in the 'Challenge Details' tab (both tabs located at the top of the blog). For your convenience, a summary of the most important rules can also be found in the right sidebar under the heading 'General Rules'.

Right now, it is time to get down to the business of our latest challenge. Here is what you need to know...

Challenge #89

Optional Twist:

MUSIC: GOOD FOR THE SOUL!

They say that music is good for the soul and boy can we all use some soul healing right about now! Continuing with the idea of bringing more positivity into your life this year, if you would like to challenge yourself and follow our optional twist this month, we want you to design a creation THAT IS INFLUENCED BY MUSIC in some manner (i.e. inspired by a song title, lyrics, musical instrument, etc.) or one that actually has musical representation right in your project (i.e., papers with musical notes on them, song lyrics, musical note embellishments, etc.). If you create a project influenced by music in some way, you might choose to highlight a particular genre or theme (i.e., patriotic, love songs, roaring ‘20s, ballet/dance, Christmas music, country, classical, rap, pop, etc.) or you may decide to keep things more open. For example, you might simply be inspired by a song title or some lyrics. Whichever way you approach this month's optional twist, it is time to let your soul sing!

In order to be considered eligible for this month's prizes, remember that general types of projects/posts will not qualify for the prizes UNLESS they are also positive, inspirational, motivational or encouraging in some nature. Additionally, even if a project may qualify as positive, if your post promotes negativity, hatred or anything of an abhorrent nature, your project will be disqualified. Prizes this month include:
  • A $10 gift certificate from Lunagirl Images, our guest sponsor for this month, for a person chosen in a random draw based on all qualifying entrants.
  • ONE image (value of $5 or less) from Scribbles Designs, for the post or project that the team deems most inspiring of the bunch based on all qualifying entrants.
  • One digital image from Creative Bug Digital SnapShots for each person chosen as a DT Delight.

Talking of our guest sponsor...

We are very pleased to have Lunagirl Images join us as this month's guest sponsor. It is time for us to refresh ourselves with the details of this wonderful company!

http://www.lunagirl.com/
My name is Karen, owner of Lunagirl Images. In 2004, after collecting vintage ephemera for most of my life, I started digitizing and restoring images and designing digital supplies for artists and crafters (my husband collected antique books and prints, so we had quite a house full!) We are proud to have been the first company to offer digital vintage image collections of this size and quality at prices affordable to the home crafter.

At Lunagirl.com (and in my etsy shop) I currently offer you several hundred unique digital collage sheets and dozens of themed craft CDs -- over 30,000 images so far! They are a great resource for card making, scrapbooking, jewelry making, and much more, easy to use, carefully researched and curated, all thoughtfully organized and lovingly cleaned up, ready to you to use in your projects. I love altering and embellishing these beautiful and fascinating images and seeing what my customers create with them.

In addition to digital art and design, I enjoy painting on wood, creating assemblage icons and shrines, reading history books, bellydancing, cooking, and sewing with my vintage Singer. I'm also blessed to be the mom of two teenaged boys.

If you're looking for something in particular in vintage style, feel free to email me at info@Lunagirl.com!

My wonderful design team continues to outdo themselves time and time again! They each have their own style and clever interpretation of the twist. Even after all this time, I continue to be astounded by the scope of greatness in their work! Each of these artful conceptions has showcased the notion of MUSIC exceptionally and I hope we have inspired you. Be sure to go and visit each team member so you can see how her project further connects to the twist.

So what are you waiting for? Create a project and/or post that is positive, inspirational, motivational or encouraging in some nature and join our link up. How about stretching yourself by also opting to follow the twist?! While it isn't mandatory, we'd also love to find out how this month's twist affects your own life. Music is one of those things that can serve as a bridge bringing people together. It can also influence each of us in different ways. How does MUSIC influence you in your own day to day life? Do you listen to music often? Do you have a preferred style of music that is your go to or do you listen to a variety of styles? Do you play a musical instrument or possibly even teach others? If you'd like to tell us how you incorporate MUSIC into your life and what it means to you, we'd love to hear it. You can write a sentence or two in the body of your post, write a sentence at the bottom of your post next to the link up for this challenge, or simply leave a comment on this post if you'd like. Finally, remember that we're trying to create a Path of Positivity so if you have some time, please visit other people participating throughout the month.

I hope to see you back next week when voting will [hopefully] begin on the Top Picks for Challenge #88. There will be a separate post detailing those picks where you will have the opportunity to vote on the creation or post that you have found to be the most positive, inspirational or encouraging of the chosen picks.

Then, be sure to join us again on March 15th when we'll be back with our midway featuring more great projects made with designs from Lunagirl Images along with projects made with images from Scribbles Designs, one of our on-going sponsors.

If you ever have any questions be sure to EMAIL ME or just leave me a comment.

We look forward to seeing you participate!

I love this challenge. I think we all need more positivity in the world right now. No. 4 was created to celebrate love and the gift of giving at Christmas time. I had so much fun creating this cute little card and was singing "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas" when I created it. LOL! I always feel uplifted when using Conie Fong digital images or stamp sets; and this one is really a feel good image for me. Who doesn't love a sweet little Fairy? I hope everyone is doing well. Stay positive and get smiling! We can only do our best and our best is good enough! Love and hugs, Gloria

Hey Gloria, it is so wonderful to see you join us this month. We've missed you! You are correct, as long as we are doing the best we can at any time, then that is ALWAYS good enough. I'm happy to hear that you are still smiling and looking for the positive during these crazy times in our life!
