Challenge #92--Opt. Twist: Try Something NEW...June 7─July 4

Hello everyone and welcome to the Path of Positivity Challenge Blog! It is the first Monday of the month and it is time for our latest challenge to begin! We hope that you and your families continue to stay healthy. As more and more people become vaccinated, we can hopefully look forward to some positive changes in the near future.

Please note that if you are new to this challenge blog and aren't aware, this will be the last challenge before our summer break begins. I'll continue to provide reminders throughout the month.

Since we are not your typical challenge blog, it is important for you to understand how things work in order to be sure you are eligible to win any of the prizes offered. If you are new to this unique challenge, you can find out the impetus behind why I started it under the 'Introductions' tab and you can find out all the details you need to know in order to participate, in the 'Challenge Details' tab (both tabs located at the top of the blog). For your convenience, a summary of the most important rules can also be found in the right sidebar under the heading 'General Rules'.

Right now, it is time to get down to the business of our latest challenge. Here is what you need to know...

Challenge #92

Optional Twist:

Try Something NEW

Continuing with the idea of bringing more positivity into your life this year, this month we want you to design a creation that focuses on TRYING SOMETHING NEW. This could be trying a new craft technique, or designing a journal/scrapbook page sharing a new experience. Reach out beyond your comfort zone to feel proud and rejuvenated! We could always use New Techniques on any image; or, maybe colouring an image we might not normally choose would be a new experience. If you typically make cards and stick to basic rectangle and square shapes, you could always try a new card shape or be really brave and try a fancy-fold! Then of course, there is the idea of trying something new in your life and then creating some sort of project to reflect that experience, like Carole has done with her start project. Which ever direction you lean towards, this month it is time to have a new experience one way or the other!

In order to be considered eligible for this month's prizes, remember that general types of projects/posts will not qualify for the prizes UNLESS they are also positive, inspirational, motivational or encouraging in some nature. Additionally, even if a project may qualify as positive, if your post promotes negativity, hatred or anything of an abhorrent nature, your project will be disqualified. Prizes this month include:
  • THREE images from Pattie's Creations, our guest sponsor for this month, for a person chosen in a random draw based on all qualifying entrants.
  • ONE image (value of $5 or less) from Scribbles Designs, for the post or project that the team deems most inspiring of the bunch based on all qualifying entrants.
  • One digital image from Creative Bug Digital SnapShots for each person chosen as a DT Delight.

Talking of our guest sponsor...

We are very pleased to have Pattie's Creations join us as this month's guest sponsor. It is time for us to refresh ourselves with the details of this lovely company!

I am an Internet Technology Professional and an Artist. I always dreamed of being an artist, but I found out quickly that I needed another field to support my family so I pursued a Degree in Information Technology. I love to use Adobe Photoshop and Fireworks to enhance my work. I just recently started selling my very own digital images and I am so excited to be here sponsoring this Challenge.

I created a character called Pattieboop and her cat named Allie. I have had so much fun coming up with different images so I also created a site to sell them. You can go to my store to find out more about Pattieboop & Allie. I know you will just love them when you see them.

My wonderful design team continues to outdo themselves time and time again! They each have their own style and clever interpretation of the twist. Even after all this time, I continue to be astounded by the scope of greatness in their work! Each of these artful conceptions has showcased the notion of Try Something NEW exceptionally and I hope we have inspired you. Be sure to go and visit each team member so you can see how her project further connects to the twist.

So what are you waiting for? Create a project and/or post that is positive, inspirational, motivational or encouraging in some nature and join our link up. How about stretching yourself by also opting to follow the twist?! While it isn't mandatory, we'd also love to find out how this month's twist affects your own life. Sometimes we get in the habit of just doing the same things over and over again, whether in our lives or in our crafting. However, it is important to stretch ourselves every so often and Try Something NEW. It can be something big like taking a class in a subject that has always interested you but you've never had the nerve to do. It could be something as small as simply trying a new technique in regards to your crafting. The act itself isn't important, it is stepping out to try something out of your comfort zone that counts. Growth is an important part of our lives so this month take the opportunity to Try Something NEW and do a little growing of your own. If you'd like to tell us about the NEW experience you undertook this month, we'd love to hear it. You can write a sentence or two in the body of your post, write a sentence at the bottom of your post next to the link up for this challenge, or simply leave a comment on this post if you'd like. Finally, remember that we're trying to create a Path of Positivity so if you have some time, please visit other people participating throughout the month.

I hope to see you back next week when voting will [hopefully] begin on the Top Picks for Challenge #91. There will be a separate post detailing those picks where you will have the opportunity to vote on the creation or post that you have found to be the most positive, inspirational or encouraging of the chosen picks.

Then, be sure to join us again on June 21st when we'll be back with our midway featuring more great projects made with designs from Pattie's Creations along with projects made with images from Scribbles Designs, one of our on-going sponsors.

If you ever have any questions be sure to EMAIL ME or just leave me a comment.

We look forward to seeing you participate!
