Ch. #100--Anything Goes POSITIVE with the Opt. Twist of Celebrate Something Special about YOUR PET(S) OR ANIMALS IN GENERAL

Hello everyone and welcome to the Path of Positivity Challenge Blog! It is the first Monday of the month and it is time for our latest challenge to begin! We hope that you and your families continue to stay healthy out there.

We've reached a special milestone today. We have come to our 100th challenge! Incredibly, the Path of Positivity has been in business since April of 2013! One more year and we'll be celebrating our 10th anniversary. Positive thoughts that things in my life will stabilize and allow me the opportunity to continue with this challenge so we can be here to actually celebrate next year!

Thanks for popping by today. I really hope that you will join us during this special 100th challenge! Since we are not your typical challenge blog, it is important for you to understand how things work in order to be sure you are eligible to win any of the prizes offered. If you are new to this unique challenge, you can find out the impetus behind why I started it under the 'Introductions' tab and you can find out all the details you need to know in order to participate, in the 'Challenge Details' tab (both tabs located at the top of the blog). For your convenience, a summary of the most important rules can also be found in the right sidebar under the heading 'General Rules'. I've just finished updating these pages with all the changes so hopefully I haven't missed anything.

Right now, it is time to get down to the business of our latest challenge. Here is what you need to know...

Challenge #100

Anything Goes POSITIVE with the Opt. Twist of

Celebrate Something Special about

YOUR PET(S) OR ANIMALS IN GENERAL

This year's goal is to celebrate the positive around us. As such, if you would like to participate in the optional twist this month, we want you to design a creation that focuses on Celebrating Something Special about YOUR PET(S) OR ANIMALS IN GENERAL.

Did you know that April 11th is National Pet Day? That makes this month the perfect time to focus on celebrating your pet(s)--whether past or present--or animals in general if you've never had a pet. This special day of observance began in 2006 and originated in the US. However, it is now celebrated in many other countries around the world including Canada, the U.K., New Zealand, the Republic of Ireland, Italy, Australia, Israel, Spain, Guam, and others. If you happen to be a pet owner you know there are numerous values to having a furry friend in your life. What you might not know is that there are also many medical benefits of having a pet. Spending time with and cuddling with your pet friend contributes to your overall heart health by lowering cortisol, cholesterol, and blood pressure levels. Other physical benefits include increasing your physical activity. Whether walking your dog or actively playing with your pet, your heart gets pumping. Pets are also good for our mental and emotional health. They provide companionship, help to reduce anxiety, and help add structure to your day. Additionally, and especially in the case of dogs, they can help to boost your self-confidence and help you to meet new people. A pet can be the perfect addition to your family!

The focus of your project could be on a pet from your past or or one you have now. If you want, you creation could cover all the pets you've ever had (like in a journal page, collage, or scrapbooking page). Or, if you have never had a pet, you could focus your project on your favourite animal if you'd like. This month, it is time to pay homage to the furry friends out there and show the world Something Special about YOUR PET(S) OR ANIMALS IN GENERAL in your effort to celebrate the Positivity that already exists in your life.

Remember, the twist is completely optional and you don't need to follow it in order to win. However, in order to be considered eligible for this month's goodies, remember that general types of projects/posts will not qualify for the honours and prize UNLESS they are also positive, inspirational, motivational or encouraging in some nature. Additionally, even if a project may qualify as positive, if your post promotes negativity, hatred or anything of an abhorrent nature, your project will be disqualified. Honours and Prize include:

  • $6 worth of images from Scribbles Designs, for a person chosen in a random draw based on all qualifying entrants.
  • A badge for the following honours: Top Pick, Voter's Choice, Most Inspirational, Random Winner, DT Delight.

My wonderful design team continues to outdo themselves time and time again! They each have their own style and clever interpretation of the twist. Even after all this time, I continue to be astounded by the scope of greatness in their work! Each of these artful conceptions has showcased the notion of Celebrating Something Special about PET(S) OR ANIMALS IN GENERAL exceptionally and I hope we have inspired you. Be sure to go and visit each team member so you can see how her project further connects to the twist.

So what are you waiting for? Create a project and/or post that is positive, inspirational, motivational or encouraging in some nature and join our link up. How about stretching yourself by also opting to follow the twist?! While it isn't mandatory, we'd also love to find out how this month's twist affects your own life. Our pets can have sooooo many different types of unique characteristics and traits. What makes your pet(s) special? Are they cuddly, loving, funny, or maybe have a unique skill that you'd like to share? Or, you could focus on what is unique in general about the breed or type of animal you choose. There are so many avenues you could take. If you'd like to tell us Something Special about YOUR PET(S) OR ANIMALS IN GENERAL, we'd love to hear it. You can write a sentence or two in the body of your post, write a sentence at the bottom of your post next to the link up for this challenge, or simply leave a comment on this post if you'd like. Finally, remember that we're trying to create a Path of Positivity so if you have some time, please visit other people participating throughout the month.

I hope to see you back next week when voting will [hopefully] begin on the Top Picks for Challenge #99. There will be a separate post detailing those picks where you will have the opportunity to vote on the creation or post that you have found to be the most positive, inspirational or encouraging of the chosen picks.

Then, be sure to join us again on April 18th when we'll be back with our midway featuring more great projects. Oh, and I'll get the winner announcement for February's link up published as soon as I can manage.

If you ever have any questions be sure to EMAIL ME or just leave me a comment.

We look forward to seeing you participate!
